How Payment Works

No money passes through Bored Billionaire Bill, and there are no fees.

How a bill gets paid

A supporter opens a request, looks at the bill and chooses “I’ll pay this bill”.
The bill is reserved for that supporter for a limited time, so nobody else pays it at the same time.
The supporter pays the bill company directly — on its official website, app, office or phone line — using the account or reference number provided.
The supporter uploads the payment receipt.
The requester checks with the bill company and confirms the payment arrived. The request is then marked “Paid”.

Fees

We charge nothing. The bill company or your bank may have their own payment charges.

Never pay a person

Genuine requests on this site are paid to bill companies only. If payment details point to a personal account, don’t pay — report the request.

Not a donation

Paying someone’s bill is a personal gift, not a charitable donation, and is not tax-deductible.
