Question 1

What is Bored Billionaire Bill?

Accepted Answer

A place where people struggling with an essential bill can share it, and people who want to help can pay that bill directly to the bill company.

Question 2

Does any money go through this website?

Accepted Answer

No. We never collect, hold or transfer money. A supporter pays the bill company directly — for example on the company’s official website, app or phone line.

Question 3

Who can ask for help?

Accepted Answer

Anyone aged 18 or over with a genuine, unpaid essential bill, such as electricity, water, rent, medical, education or internet. You need a free account.

Question 4

Is it free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sharing a bill and helping are both free. We don’t charge any fees.

Question 5

Are bills checked or verified?

Accepted Answer

No. We don’t review or verify bills or payment details. Supporters see the bill themselves and decide. Before paying, check the details with the bill company and only pay through its official channels.

Question 6

Who can see my bill?

Accepted Answer

Your display name, country, bill category, amount and short explanation are public. The bill photo and payment details are shown only to signed-in members — never to search engines or visitors who aren’t signed in. You can cover private details before uploading.

Question 7

Does swiping right charge me?

Accepted Answer

Never. Swiping right only saves a request. Nothing is ever charged on this website.

Question 8

How do I pay someone’s bill?

Accepted Answer

Open the request and choose “I’ll pay this bill”. It’s reserved for you for a limited time, so nobody else pays it at the same time. Pay the bill company directly using the details shown, then upload your receipt. The requester confirms when the payment arrives.

Question 9

What if I can’t pay after committing?

Accepted Answer

Release the bill from the request page or your dashboard. If you don’t upload a receipt in time, the bill becomes available again automatically.

Question 10

Are payments tax-deductible?

Accepted Answer

No. We are not a registered charity and payments made to bill companies on someone’s behalf are not charitable donations.

Question 11

Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Payments are made directly to the bill company, so we can’t refund them. Contact the bill company if a payment was made in error.

Question 12

How do I report a suspicious request?

Accepted Answer

Signed-in members can use “Report this request” on any request page. Requests reported by several members are hidden automatically.
